IMportant:
Winter/SPring 2023 Notice
Hello to you and Happy New Year!!!
What a year 2022 has been for me on a personal level, but I’m delighted to say I have been working very hard behind the scenes and back in the driving seat having to made a few major adjustments and find a new studio to work from, near to home.
Anyway, I must stress, these winter months, cool weather and very hot weather, I will not be casting resin. I can explain if you wish to know why, just get in touch. Fundamentally I do not want to ruin the art work I am working with and room temperature (22 degrees is required) and moisture are two major factors working with Epoxy. However, I can still take in your flowers which need to be PRE-BOOKED and when suitable casting conditions allow, I will get to work on your art piece.
Bookings after your wedding, for example, I cannot guarantee I can take them in. The drying material needs to be available first, secondly, if your flowers are not fresh and perky, well resin will not do them any favours. However, do contact me and we can have a chat. Better the condition, the more beautiful they will be when I finish your piece.
In the meantime, check out this link and it will give you some great info! And if you’ve any questions, do not hesiteate to contact me.
All the best, Vanessa xx

Where did the name Alchemist Designs come from?
Honestly, I was stuck for a name that defined me and my art. I was totally overthinking the idea so decided to drop the quest and then, as you know it, Alchemist Designs just came to me. A bright light bulb moment. I was curious why that name felt right, so after a little thought (more thinking lol) I realised where it came from. Since a child I have always been interested in Tarot and the Alchemist or fondly known as the Magician is a card I've always loved because what he stood for. The Alchemist/ Magician has all the elements, resources and skills he needs to create something from nothing and this really resonated with me and also reflected my past too. Late 2021 I discovered this image from the Tarot Illuminati deck, long after I created this website. To my surprise, my favourite card was the same name and colouring I chose for my brand and I have the actual deck too! Meant to be! What is an Alchemist? ref Oxford Languages "a person who practises alchemy" "a person who transforms or creates something through a seemingly magical process" What is Alchemy? Alchemy is defined as the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way that cannot be explained. An example of using alchemy is a person who takes a pile of scrap metal and turns it into beautiful art. |
