Hi Everyone!!! It's Vanessa here!!!
Heart on my sleeve ..... I feel I have no option but to head in this direction. After a crazy year, my personal life was a little hectic, tying up loose ends, to secure a home I could afford before eviction and then find a suitable new studio premises too (can't cast resin in your kitchen *wink*), during the summer I was in on dated with last minute booking requests and post wedding/ occasion flowers, I wasn't able to cope. I had invested so much and I didn't have enough drying materials and space, there was a resin shortage (worldwide) still affecting us today, the quality of resin was deplorable etc. I couldn't to take on any bookings because my whole world as I knew it had turned upside down. I know, TMI (too much information) but I am being completely honest so unfortunately I am left with no option, I am not in a position take in any more flowers post events, just for now.
I have worked very hard behind the scenes and learned to look after me too so for the foreseeable I will require, for all flower preservations, to BOOK at least 4-6 weeks in advance or an express fee will apply. Funeral flowers are exempt. I am still against the wall, the extortionate price and resin shortage is buckling a lot of resin artists across the globe.

TIP: It is always best to contact me PRE-EVENT to see how I am 'fixed' to receive your flowers. If I am available, then we can book you in and I will go through what you need to do so you are prepared to have your flowers sent to me and arrive in the best possible condition after your occasion.

Where did the name Alchemist Designs come from?
Honestly, I was stuck for a name that defined me and my art. I was totally overthinking the idea so decided to drop the quest and then, as you know it, Alchemist Designs just came to me. A bright light bulb moment. I was curious why that name felt right, so after a little thought (more thinking lol) I realised where it came from. Since a child I have always been interested in Tarot and the Alchemist or fondly known as the Magician is a card I've always loved because what he stood for. The Alchemist/ Magician has all the elements, resources and skills he needs to create something from nothing and this really resonated with me and also reflected my past too. Late 2021 I discovered this image from the Tarot Illuminati deck, long after I created this website. To my surprise, my favourite card was the same name and colouring I chose for my brand and I have the actual deck too! Meant to be! What is an Alchemist? ref Oxford Languages "a person who practises alchemy" "a person who transforms or creates something through a seemingly magical process" What is Alchemy? Alchemy is defined as the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way that cannot be explained. An example of using alchemy is a person who takes a pile of scrap metal and turns it into beautiful art. |
